Archaeology Notes

NT17NE 116 1965 7856

Site recorded during a rapid coastal survey undertaken by GUARD of the S shore of the Firth of Forth from Dunbar to Stirling and along the N shore of the Forth to the Fife border. A gazetteer of all sites including listed buildings, designed landscapes, scheduled and unscheduled monuments was produced. GUARD 1996

Stone built building with mortar pointing. Two storeys high and unroofed. It has been vandalised and is suffering from weathering. The structure is shown as extant and roofed on the map of 1853. OS 6" 1st edition County Series 1853, Edinburghshire sheet 1.

The buildings were only one storey high, not two storeys (photographs available showing the original buildings prior to dereliction.)
