Sponsor: Historic Scotland

GUARD 1996

The remains of a sea wall constructed from large blocks of sandstone is visible curving round the bay to the north-west of Gosford House. The blocks form a sloping bank and are more visible to the north becoming little more than a line of boulders to the south. This may date to the late 18th early 19th century and be part of improvements to Gosford Estate.

Site recorded by GUARD during the Coastal Assessment Survey for Historic Scotland, 'The Firth of Forth from Dunbar to the Coast of Fife' 20th February 1996.
