NS27NW 22 Centred 2385 7730

A four emplacement battery with accommodation camp on the summit of Tower Hill, the camp was immediately to the S of the gun positions.

Information from RCAHMS (DE) July 1997

A World War II heavy anti-aircraft battery situated near the summit of Tower Hill. No remains could be found on the date of visit.

Note (15 December 2015)

The location of the AA battery lies to the SSW of Tower (see NS27NW 124) and 150m S of the previously published NGR for this site. The site lies in grassland, part of a public park. Evidence of the teardrop shaped service road that served the battery can be see as a patch mark in 2011 Getmapping vertical air photograph. The site of the accommodation camp is now occuppied by St Columba's High School and no trace of the camp remains.
