Sbc Note
The original settlement comprised a small mansion and an inn, there are now rows of weavers cottages, a hotel, mills, a farmhouse, and a drinking fountain. Carlops enjoyed a short period of prosperity and since then has remained quiet. There are records of much coal mining and quarrying in the area of Carlops.
