NT 251 407 A watching brief was undertaken by Headland Archaeology Ltd of a development site immediately NE of the 13th-century church and later Trinitarian Friary of Cross Kirk. No archaeological features or deposits were identified.

NT 251 407 On July 11th 1997 Headland Archaeology Ltd carried out a watching brief at Murray Place, Peebles which is being developed for housing. The site lies adjacent to and immediatly SE of Crosskirk and lies in a sensitive area close to a known medieval focus. The two exposed sections of trenches that remained on site were fully cleaned by hand and inspected. No archaeological features or deposits were identified.

Sbc Note
The site inspection was undertaken in 1997 nothing of any archaelogical significance was found.
However the perimeter foundation trench had been filled with concrete before inspection.
