Summary Record (8 February 2012)

This house was built by James Milne in 1821 as part of the development oof Saxe-Coburg Place. He completed number 1-8. The house retains its original tiled outer hall, cupola lit staircase and on the first floor the L-plan drawing room . In the 1950's the house was bought by Prof and Mrs Robertson. They used the oringal dining room at the front on the ground floor as Prof Robertson's study. The rear room became the master bedroom with a bathroom adjacent. On the first floor they retained the original drawing room and used the rear room ad a dining room. A new kitchen was created in the room to the south of the staircase. The top floor was remodelled to accommodate three bedroom and a bathroom. The basement with access to the garden housed guest rooms, a utility room and bathroom. The Robertson family sold the house in 2011.
