Built as the stables for Park House ( later Egremont), the house designed by F T Pilkington for himself, c. 1864.
The stables built c.1896 for George Boyd Thornton, an India Rubber manufacturer, later owner of Egremont. The conversion of the stables/garage into a rather luxurious bachelor pad for solicitor, Thomas Williamson, were carried out by architect, Alexander A Foote in 1930. Foote had already divided the main house into two in 1929. The two properties are on divided plots.
Malcom Fraser architects lodged a scheme for demolition of the service wing and complete rebuilding c.2007. A new house has been built in the grounds of the Stables House.
