NS39NE 23 3642 9952

A building, situated on prominent mound on a SW-facing slope above Ardess, was recorded by Birmingham University Field Archaeology Unit during a survey of the Ben Lomond estate for the National Trust for Scotland. It measures 7.9m by 4.4m over stone footings and has a single partition.

Field Visit (February 1997 - February 1997)

Structural remains, stone footings of two-cell building, forming E and S sides with fragmentary W side and cross wall, N side not visible, 7.9 x 4.4m externally, W room 3.7 x 3.9m, E room 3.7 x 2.2m internally. Set on a prominent mound to NW of Site 109 (NS39NE 22).
