Situated on the edge of Gullane. Designed as a holiday home near Muirfield golf course for Alfred Lyttleton MP. Originally intended to have a fortress-like character, and to be named 'High Walls'. Elliptical front, curving horizontal planes, white casement windows, Georgian doorway. Walls of cream-colured rubble, roof of grey Dutch pantiles. Now a hotel.
