Field Visit (April 1996 - May 1996)

To the west of the modern Ruanaich croft house are the remains of a number of derelict structures. This includes one building which is sub-rectangular in plan, measuring 9.0m by -.0m with walls 0. 8m broad and 1.5m high, with rounded corners. This structure has clearly been recently repaired with the walls finished at a standardised height. An enclosure, 20.0m by 17.0 m, stretches to the west while to the north and north-east there are fragments of further buildings, some of which have been incorporated into sheds.
