Archaeology Notes

NH68NW 7 6050 8944.

(NH 6050 8944) Silver coin found (NAT)

OS 6" map, Ross-shire, 2nd ed., (1907)

In building a new wall round the churchyard (NH68NW 6.01) two years ago (ie. 1838) a small coin of James VI was discovered. It is of silver about the size of a sixpence, and is now in the possession of the author.

New Statistical Account (NSA) 1845.

No further information was found regarding the coin during field investigation.
