Archaeological Notes
NH75NE 4 c. 78 55
The Sea-well near Campelltown was a special remedy merely for the cure of whooping-cough, many other troubles and, in 1832 and later, was used as a preventive of cholera.
A Fraser 1878.
There are many wells in the vicinity of Campelltown, but there is no local knowledge of a sea well with remedial qualities.
Visited by OS (R D) 16 August 1984.
