'A very curious Roman sword, and head of a spear, were dug up near Ardersier, about twenty or twenty five years ago.'
W Roy 1793.
No further information on this alleged Roman sword and spear head could be found.
Visited by OS (R D) 16 August 1964.

Notes NH 78 55 A fragmentary zoomorphic openwork fitting decorated in a version of the Scandinavian Urnes style was found during metal detecting near Ardersier.
