King George VI Bridge [NAT]

OS 1:10,000 map, 1984.

(Location cited as NJ 936 042). Aberdeen, King George VI bridge. Built 1939 by architect Sir Frank Mears. A four-span reinforced concrete bridge with three main elliptical openings and a flood arch. Faced with bullnosed granite masonry.

This bridge carries Great Southern Road over the River Dee within the southern outskirts of Aberdeen. This road forms the A92 and is the main route into the city from the S.
