Sherbrooke Avenue
Sherbrooke House, No 17, c.1892. Among the biggest of the Pollokshields Scots Baronial villas. Its square central red sandstone tower is topped by a steep iron-crested French roof. Balmory, No 21, c.1893, W J Anderson. Arts & Crafts villa in red ashlar-dressed whinstone, with a large round corner tower. Matheran, Nos 27-29, 1903, Burnet, Boston & Carruthers. Large Scots Baronial bay-windowed villa with corbelling and a corner tower. Built for Hugh Dunsmuir, it is now the Glasgow School of Occupational Therapy. Decorative plaster above fireplace in open hall complete with a balcony, oak panelling and leaded glass panels.
