Archaeology Notes

NT51SW 126 5018 1453

During March 1999, RCAHMS conducted a photographic survey of the standing industrial heritage relating to the textile industry in Hawick. The purpose of this survey was to enhance and augment the holdings of the existing National Monuments Record Scotland.

Site Management (19 May 2009)

Former woollen mill at the confluence of the Slitrig Water and the river Teviot. Appears to have been phased construction. The building fronting onto Mill Port would seem to appear on the 1st edition OS (1:2,500) series, the building with the long elevation to Round Close would appear to be a later addition.
