22 February 1865, TEMORA, SS, of Leith, 448 tons, Official No. 22,940, departed London, 19 February for Dundee, carrying jute, lost on the Carr Rocks, off the coast of Fife. Abandoned as a total wreck. Inquiry at Leith. Part III: Precis of Special Inquiries into Casualties, ordered by the Board of Trade during the Year 1865.

Dundee, 23rd Feb. Some steamers have gone to the assistance of the TEMORA (s.s.), from London to this port, which went on shore yesterday afternoon at Fifeness [Fife Ness], to the Westward of the Carr rock.

St. Andrew's, 23rd Feb. The TEMORA (s.s.), of Leith, Brown, from London to Dundee, which struck on the rocks between Carr beacon and Fifeness [Fife Ness] yesterday, is landing her cargo (jute), the greater part of which is expected to be saved. It is very doubtful, however, whether the vessel will be got off, as she is lying in a very dangerous position.
