Archaeology Notes

NS07NW 29 0040 7565

The area around Caladh Harbour was used during the Second World War for training in the use of landing craft and midget submarines. The quay and slipway with its winch were all utilised during this period. Other remains in the vicinity consist of two small generator houses and a number of hut bases. Cladh Castle, (NS07NW 27) was also used as the Headquarters for the military units based here.
