Desk Based Assessment (22 August 2017)

A single-storey brick-built workshop formerly stood at 50 Tunnel Street, its SSW side facing the north rotunda of the Glasgow Harbour Tunnel (NS56NE 79.01) and its ESE side facing the sheds at 23-29 Tunnel Street (NS56NE 2834). The workshop, which is depicted on the 1:1250 Town Plan of Glasgow (1950, NS5765SW), was built sometime between 1896 and 1913, being first depicted on the 3rd edition of the OS 25-inch map (Lanarkshire 1913, Sheet 006.10). It was photographed by Professor Hume in 1968, but has since been demolished and the area is now used as a car park.
