NMRS, MS/829/68 (no. 1522).

(Classified as wooden ketch, with cargo of cured herring: registration number cited as SY 823, and date of loss as 13 January 1890). Spanker: this vessel stranded at Obbe Bay, Harris. Capt. Kerr.

Registration: Stornoway. Built 1859. 39grt. Length: 18m. Beam: 5m.

(Location of loss cited as N57 46.33 W7 1.50).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The map sheet assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. Obb Bay cannot be identified from the available map evidence and the stranding is placed in the area suggested by Larn and Larn. The village on An t-Ob is centred around NG 017 863 and Whittaker cites 'Obbe Bay' (in this area) as a possible location.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 24 April 2002.

R and B Larn 1998; I G Whittaker 1998.
