Oatridge Hotel, c.1800
Formerly the well-known Uphall Inn, this lovely building is the product of many generations. Examine its golden stonework and where stringcourses start and stop. Three long, spreading bays, projecting pedimented entrance, with handsome and fashionable Regency porch. Muir's Buildings, West Main Street, 1890, a long two-storey range of flats above shops, has an uneasy mansard roof but pretty pedimented gable with clock and ball finial.
