Architecture Notes

NMRS REFERENCE:

The Fraser Family (the owners of Cloust Hotel by Lorimer) bought the Vementry Estate in 1900. The house is thought to have been built in the early 1900s by the Fraser Sisters after their brother Edmund had drowned in a sailing accident off Vementry. The house formed an addition to an existing croft which was used mainly as service accommodation. Walls are harled with red granite dressings from the Island of Vememntry.

The original drawings remain in the house including sheets of details not copied. The drawings are unsigned and undated.
