(Classified as wooden brigantine, with cargo of timber: date of loss cited as 18 March 1892). Stjernen: this vessel stranded at Battery Point, Stornoway. Capt. Mathieson.

Registration: Drammen. Built 1854. 188nrt. Length: 31m. Beam: 8m.

(Location of loss cited as N58 11.0 W6 22.0).

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. Battery Point is not noted on the 1997 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map, but the name has evidently been applied to the point at NB 432 322.

The current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map notes Battery Point [NAT] at NB 431 321. This ill-defined point is situated on the N shore of Cala Steornabhaigh and is fronted by extensive reefs. Cala Steornabhaigh forms the extensive outer harbour at Stornoway.
