A rectangular dovecot, bearing the date 1607, stands beside the farm-house of Press Castle.

The dovecot is of harled, rubble sandstone and measures externally 19ft E - W by 9ft N - S. It is decorated with battlements and sham cannon.

A N Robertson.

This dovecot was located at NT 8711 6537. It is a two-storeyed building generally as described by Robertson. The dovecot proper seems to have been confined to the upper storey, the lower portion being used as a storeroom.
