Archaeological Evaluation (24 June 2020)

NS 79177 94039 Archaeological works were carried out in support of a proposed development at Mar Lodge, on 24 June 2020. They consisted of a photographic survey of the development area and its setting and recording a section of the boundary wall prior to construction of the new access route located on the SW edge of the site. A trial trench evaluation was also undertaken amounting to 45m2, or approximately 5% of the 900 m2 area that targeted the building plot, access route and areas of tree planting. No archaeological features or material culture was uncovered.
