NN72SE 14 c. 77 22.

A bronze socketed axe, 2 7/8ins, by 2 1/8ins, with loop broken off, found at Comrie, was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities in 1889 by Sir H E Maxwell.

The axe is related to the rectangular type. National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) Accession no. DE 52.

Single find. Socketed axe, smooth but slightly snady surface, loop broken, trimmed, blade hammered; length 70mm, mouth 27 x 30mm, cutting edge 53mm, weight 210 gms. NMAS DE 52.
