Stranraer, 26th Jan., the GRASMERE (s), from Whitehaven to Bowling, which struck on a rock in Port Patrick harbour, is loaded with iron ore, not pig iron, as before reported. It appears that the vessel can easily be cleared of water and [Record received incomplete].

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. Portpatrick Harbour (NW95SE 9.00) is centred at NW 99878 54102.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably on account of her successful recovery.
