Archaeological Notes

NN92NW 15 9050 2956.

(NN 9051 2952) "Cairn-circle; mound high and stones nearly all visible. (This is probably the supposed grave of one of Wade's road-makers: if so, the stone by the Giant's Grave is more likely to be the real 'Ossian's Grave'. But the whole tale is fantastic)."
OS 6" map annotated by O G S Crawford, 27 April 1940.

NN 9050 2956 - A small, grass-covered cairn, 7.5m diameter and 1.0m high, situated in gently undulating ground. The peristalith is defined by several large stones protruding through the turf.
