Glasgow, 19th Mar., the ROVER (tug) is reported ashore on Garroch head, and is likely to become a total wreck.

Glasgow, 20th Mar., the ROVER (tug), which was driven ashore at Dunagoil bay, South Bute, during the gale, has become a total wreck: crew saved. [Report received incomplete].

(Classified as wooden paddle steamship: date of loss cited as 19 March 1874). Rover: this vessel was ashore on Garroch Head, Dunagoil Bay, and [was] expected [to become a] wreck.

Registration: Port Glasgow. Built 1861. 91grt. Length: 27m. Beam: 5m.

(Location of loss cited as N55 44.00 W5 3.00).
