Archaeology Notes

NT17NE 269 c.1808 7536

The cropmark of a possible pit-alignment has been identified from postwar RAF vertical air photographs (541/A/589, 4008-4010, flown 19 August 1950) situated at the NW end of a field W of Whitehouse Road at Barnton. The cropmark shows as an arc of pits in an area now occupied by two high rise blocks at Braehead Avenue.
