Stromness, 18th Sept., 7.20 p.m., a brig, supposed Norwegian, was wrecked on the Island of Swona on the night of the 14th, during a heavy West gale, and now lies in deep water: cargo and destination unknown. Ship's bow came on shore: no tidings of crew.

Wick, 18th Sept., a large schooner, name and nationality unknown, is reported wrecked on the Island of Swona, Pentland Firth, half-way between Orkney and the mainland, and it is feared that all on board have been drowned. Quantities of wreckage are being washed ashore, on portions of which is the name "HAKON".

Wick, 18th Sept., a vessel, supposed to be a foreign schooner, is believed to have struck on the Island of Swona, Pentland Firth, on Saturday night, and sunk soon afterwards. The tops of her masts are visible above water. The crew [Report received incomplete].
