Campbeltown Loch [name centred NR 745 205].

Campbeltown, Jan. 8, the FOX smack, at anchor off the Old Quay, was sunk at her moorings during a south-easterly gale yesterday: and another smack, belonging to a Gigha fisherman.

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. The 1982 edition of the OS 1:10,000 map notes Old Quay [NAT] at NR 722 204. Campbeltown Harbour (NR72SW 43.00) is centred at NR 72215 20399.

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998).
