Archaeology Notes

NT28SE 5.11 c. 2912 8289

Situated on the NW side of the island, a 3" anti-aircraft gun emplacement is shown between the two coast battery positions on an annotated plan in the Public Record Office.

Information from RCAHMS (DE) November 1997.

Architecture Notes

NT28SE 5.11 c. 2912 8289

Little evidence was seen of this gun emplacement in the area to the NE and E of West gun No.2 (NT28SE 5.07). Immediately to the E of the emplacement are eight, in two rows, of square concrete blocks/pillars and grouped in fours. Immediately N of this is a single rectangular concrete platform, possibly the site of the anti aircraft gun emplacement.
