NLO: Campbeltown [name: NR 720 204]

Campbeltown Loch [name centred NR 745 205].

Campbeltown, 23d April. 'The ERIN, Brenan, from Waterford to Glasgow, ran on shore yesterday morning at the entrance to this harbor, and must discharge.'

Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 6424, London, Tuesday April 28 1829.

NMRS, MS/829/71 (no. 6651).

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. Campbeltown Harbour (NR72SW 43.00) is centred at NR 72215 20399.

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably suggesting her successful recovery.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 16 May 2005.
