Artefact Recovery (2004)

NM 82 38 Gold plate for linking the terminals of a Viking arm ring. The plate has been clipped at either end and possibly reused as an ingot. One side of the plate bears dot decoration; the other has two deep diagonal scores. XRF analysis indicates that the gold corresponds to 22 carat purity. L 38.8mm; W 0.96mm; Th0.35mm; Wt 13.6g. Claimed as Treasure Trove (TT 113/03) and allocated to Argyll & Bute Council.
