NLO: Port of Leith [name: NT 265 775].

Leith, 7th August. 'The TRIAD, Miller, hence to Quebec, got on the Weir, this morning, but is expected off next tide, without damage.'

Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 7622, London, Friday August 10 1838

Leith, 11th Aug. 'The TRIAD, Miller, hence to Quebec, which was on shore on the Weir 7th instant, floated off next tide, and proceeded.'

Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 7626, London, Wednesday August 15 1838.

NMRS, MS/829/71 (no. 7323).

The location of 'the Weir' cannot be established from the available map evidence.

This loss of this vessel is not noted by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably on account of her successful recovery.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 19 July 2005.
