Archaeology Notes

NT43NW 54.01 43059 39249

This dam formes the S side of the Stantling Craig reservoir, which has been formed by damming the Caddon Water. It spans the boundary between the parishes of Stow (to the E) and Caddonfoot (to the W).

The location assigned to this record defines the centre of the structure, which apparently extends from NT c. 42974 39279 to NT c. 43145 39231.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 25 January 2006.
