NMRS, MS/829/72 (no. 9160).
(No classification, cargo or location of loss specified: date of loss cited as 23 December 1855). Defiance: this vessel stranded at Stroud [Toward] Point, Argyll, and was full of water.
I G Whittaker 1998.
The location of loss assigned to this record is essentially tentative. The location of Stroud Point cannot be determined from the available map evidence, but an equation with Toward Point appears probable from the identity of the port of report (Greenock). Toward Point Lighthouse (NS16NW 12.00) is at NS 13623 67226.
