Architecture Notes

NS89SE 230 85548 93929

19th century two storey house coarsed rubble, tooled lintels with slated roof. Above the main door is an 18th century marriage stone dated 1743 with a love heart placed between the 17 and 43. Within the panel are the intials JMMH in the lower half, a large 4 with XX below centrally placed and two rosettes interspersed within the 4.

The building is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 25-inch map (Stirlingshire 1865, sheet xviii).
