Viaduct [NAT]

This viaduct carries the Glasgow-Carlisle portion of the West Coast Main Line over the Elvan Water, a short distance W of its debouchement into the River Clyde and to the N of Elvanfoot Station (NS91NE 68). This portion of the line formerly formed part of the main line of the Caledonian railway.

The viaduct remains in regular use by passenger traffic, and the line has been electrified.
