NO30NE 3 377 098.

A bronze socketed axe, 3 3/4 by 2 1/2 inches found near Struthers House in the parish of Ceres, is in the National Museum of Antiquities.

NMAS 1892

Enquiries at Struthers failed to reveal any knowledge of this find.

Visited by OS (WDJ) 16 October 1962.

(Dungiven variant of Dowris type). Socketed axe, no patina, well-preserved metal, file-marks on body and at mouth, incompletely trimmed, shirt haft ribs. Length 95mm, mouth 27 x 32mm, cutting edge 66mm, weight 310 gms. NMAS DE 20.
