Publication Account (2007)
This light footbridge of a type now rarely seen spans the Eden between South Bridge and the recently rebuilt
Victoria Bridge. It has a span of 32 ft and is 4 ft wide. Its main structure consists of two slightly arched L-sections 712 by 212 in. carrying a timber deck. Ties of 34 in. diameter link the mid-span of the L-sections with the top of the railings at the abutments with no obvious structural anchorage. The bridge probably dates from ca.1850.
