Activities

Loss (1 January 1878)

(Classified as schooner: no cargo specified, but date of loss cited as 1 January 1878). Suffolk: [this vessel] sank at [the] SE corner of King William [IV] Dock [Dundee]. Came to Dundee a few years ago derelict.

(Location of loss cited as N56 27.75 W2 57.25).

I G Whittaker 1998.

Named Location (Nlo) (17 January 2012)

NLO: Dundee [name centred NO 40 30].

Possibly on map sheet NO42NW.

Note (17 January 2012)

(Location entered as NO c. 4060 3018). King William IV Dock (NO43SW 1002.00) was formerly centred at NO 40604 30182.

The remains of the vessel were presumably removed without delay from this constrained location.

The term 'Dundee Harbour' refers to an ill-defined area of dock and harbour facilities on the N side of the entrance to the Firth of Tay.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 17 January 2012.
