An 1855 church which is built on the site of the parish church of Clova, dedicated to St. Mary, which was united with Cortachy in 1608. On the erection of the modern church the 'jougs' of the old church were sent to National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS).

OS Name Book 1862; A J Warden 1880-5.

The present church is still in use. There is no trace of the former church.
