World War One Audit of Surviving Remains (17 September 2013)

Osborne (2006) records a drill hall in Main Street, which in 1914 was the base for "G" Company, 5th battalion, Royal Scottish Fusiliers. He reports that it was in use until 1958 and describes it as a two-storey front block with hall behind, all harled. There was an indoor range alongside the hall.

Information from HS/RCAHMS World War One Audit Project (GJB) 17 September 2013.
