Summary Record (28 October 2013)

Two drill halls succeeded one another in Walkerhaugh. This, the earlier drill hall, is marked on the 2nd epoch OS map, surveyed 1897, on the east side of Tweedbrae, its southern elevation at that time facing onto a narrow un-named lane, which would become Walkerhaugh.

The building is L-shaped, with a small southward extension. The main part of the façade has two doors and three semi-circular lights; the extension has three of these lights. All the openings have sandstone frames and the building is harled.

By the time of the 3rd epoch map (surveyed 1906) the building was no longer labelled, and a new drill hall had appeared on the other (southern) side of the road).

It has been extended to the rear and is now a church.
