'Centred in the south wall of the modern parish church of Kingsbarns is a small bell tower, the lowest part of which dates from the 17th century. It measures 16 1/4 feet in width and projects 11 3/4 feet from the church. In front a Renaissance archway frames a lintelled door-piece, the arch-mould, impost and architrave of which are boldly moulded. The tower does not open into the church."
The parish of Kingsbarns was dissociated from that of Crail in 1631, at which time the original church was built.

Repaired and enlarged 1811. Kingsbarns church is as described by RCAHMS, and only the lowest stage of the tower appears to be of original date.

Parish Church, Kingsbarns.
Centred in the south wall of the modern parish church is a small bell-tower, the lower part of which dates from the 17th century. It measures 16 ¼ feet in width and projects 11 ¾ feet from the church. In front a Renaissance archway frames a lintelled door-piece, the arch-mould, impost, and architrave of which are boldly moulded. The tower does not open into the church.
The parish of Kingsbarns was dissociated from that of Crail in 1631 (1), at which time the original church was built.
