Archaeological Notes

NO59SW 2 5281 9053.

At NO 5281 9053 is a circular stone-walled hut c.13.0m in diameter between the centres of a mutilated wall spread to c.3.0m all round. The entrance is not evident. There are one or two denuded stone clearance heaps in the area but any trace of contemporary fields had been destroyed by modern cultivation.
Surveyed at 1/2500.

In addition to the hut-circle shown on the map, there are two further circles, with internal diameter of c.7m, in rough ground to the west of the track and to the west of the circle at approximately NO 528 905.
