Archaeology Notes

NO64NW 5 6212 4909.

The old manor place at Boysack is mentioned in 1450 and 1607, and in 1678 the Carnegies moved to Kimblethmont House (NO64NW 13) from Boysack which was then "allowed to become ruinous. Only part of the walls of the old mansion remain."

A J Warden 1882

A Stewart of Boysack - NO 6212 4909 - states that there are no visible remains of the manor-house of Boysack, but the foundations of the east gable of the present house are very thick and may have formed part of the old place. Foundations have also been found in the garden immeidately adjoining, denoting that the present house is probably in the site of the Manor-house.
