White Bridge [NAT]

During May 1999, RCAHMS conducted a photographic survey of the White Bridge, over the Carron Water. The purpose of this survey was to enhance and augment the existing holdings of the National Monuments Record Scotland.

Visited by RCAHMS (MKO), May 1999.

White Bridge, Stonehaven carries a footpath across the Carron Water, which here defines the boundary between the parishes of Fetteresso (to the N) and Dunnottar (to the S).

An early example, 1879, of an arched footbridge of riveted wrought iron plate by the engineer G S Hird, see also Balgay Park, Dundee, (DW9), and contractors Blaikie Brothers of Aberdeen (who also built Abergeldie Bridge in Deeside).
